Fitness for Fun

Fitness for fun??? How can that be? Except for the fitness "buffs", most of us make a New Year's resolution to get fit only to find ourselves gradually tapering off because we're BORED!!! If you want to get off this "band wagon", find some fun exercise activities.

For the outdoors enthusiastic:

One of the hottest new ideas for a fun workout is a 3-wheeled trike - of sorts. Actually, it looks like a 3 wheeled skateboard with handle bars. But it moves forward through body movement of the rider, shifting side to side, not through pumping the pavement with your foot. Whether you're 6 or 60, it's family fun fitness that everyone will love. For more information, check out my review on the TRIKKE.

For the video gaming buff:

Yes, it's true. You can get a fun workout with games - the Nintendo Wii. Instead of sitting on the floor or couch getting your fingers exercised and a stiff neck, the Wii gives kids fun fitness through all the action games that require movement. Now isn't that a win-win! More more information, see my discussion - Exercise with Nintendo Wii.

For the dancer:

Dancing is one of the best exercise activities in my opinion - as you can see on the TV show "Dancing with the Stars". They all look pretty fit, don't you think? There are classes for many, many styles of dance and you don't have to have a partner for some. I learned to clog and had so much fun with it that I didn't even realize I was losing weight.

These are only three suggestions for incorporating fitness and fun into your life. There are many other opportunities - just do it and do it regularly.
